Six Sigma Project Management

Champions are Six Sigma leaders who recognize, define, assign, and support the  successes of Six Sigma projects. The Champion is responsible for the results of the project
and the achievement of Six Sigma results that are in their control.

Master Black Belts are the technical expert for project issues in Six Sigma. MBBs are qualified to teach and mentor other Six Sigma Belts and they support the Champions.

Black Belts handle the majority of Six Sigma project management duties. They are experienced individuals in the Six Sigma process and are responsible for most of the project leadership. Black Belts are full time Six Sigma team leaders who solve problems under the direction of the Six Sigma Champion.

Green Belts receive approximately two weeks of Six Sigma training. They are part time Six Sigma practitioners who apply Six Sigma techniques to their work area. Green Belts provide support to the Black Belt projects.

Yellow Belts receive approximately one week of training in Six Sigma problem solving. They participate in Process management activities, and support Green Belt and Black Belt projects.
