DMAIC

DMAIC is the acronym for the five stages of Six Sigma quality and assurance improvements.

D=Define tolerance range
M=Measure vital internal processes, which are critical to quality.
A=Analyze deficiency.
I= Improve tolerance.
C= Control the process.


DMADV is the acronym for the methodology in which new processes are introduced.

D=Define the process. Know where it would not meet the customer expectations.
M=Measure how much of the customers needs are met.
A=Analyze all alternative in meeting the customer needs.
D=Design changes to the process, which will guarantee the customers needs are
met.
V=Validate that such changes have met the customers needs.
